The Bower House is a luxury holiday cottage for two on the edge of the pretty village of Morland in Cumbria, rated four star by Visit Britain.

Its great feature is an enormous picture window looking over the Eden Valley to Cross Fell, the highest mountain in the Pennine range. There is one large living room with a concealed double bed folding down from a cupboard, a boarded floor of local oak, an A-frame roof, a wood burning stove and comfortable sofas. Outside the window is a wide sandstone dining terrace also overlooking the view. Private and peaceful, it is a heavenly place to be.

Morland is a few miles south of Penrith centrally situated for the Lake District, the Pennines, the Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall and the Solway Coast. Ullswater, the nearest lake, is 15 minutes away. The Eden Valley is lovely rolling countryside with quiet roads and picturesque villages ideal for walking and cycling. Morland is in easy reach of Junctions 39 and 40 of the M6, and the A66, and is convenient for Penrith station on the West Coast main line from Euston.
